The policy brief, developed under FGP’s #UnlockPakBusiness initiative, followed an extensive consultative process involving entrepreneurs, business associations, policy experts, legal practitioners and development professionals.
It has been shared with key stakeholders, including the Prime Minister’s Office, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Commerce, the Board of Investment (BOI), the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP), the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), the Planning Commission, the Ministry of Industries and Production, and relevant provincial authorities.
Muhammad Anwar, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Freedom Gate Prosperity, said Pakistan possessed enormous entrepreneurial potential. He said the objective of the policy brief was to help establish a modern, transparent and digitally enabled regulatory system that facilitated enterprise while ensuring effective governance.
According to FGP, the proposed reforms would significantly reduce compliance costs, expedite business registration and licensing, improve regulatory transparency, encourage the formalisation of enterprises, strengthen investor confidence, and create a more enabling environment for entrepreneurship, investment and sustainable economic growth in Pakistan.
