Torrential rains disrupt life in Mansehra, landslides cut off Kaghan roads, tourists stranded

KAGHAN, Jul 20 (APP):Torrential monsoon rains brought normal life to a standstill in Mansehra on Monday as heavy landslides and flash flooding blocked key roads in Kaghan Valley, leaving tourists and local commuters stranded, officials said.
According to police, a major landslide at Sohuch completely blocked the road to all types of traffic. In a separate incident, flash flooding in a seasonal stream, coupled with landslides, forced the closure of the Naran–Khajjal Khad Road, disrupting travel in the valley.
The road closures halted the movement of tourists heading to and from Kaghan Valley, while residents also faced difficulties due to the suspension of traffic.
The Kaghan Development Authority (KDA) has dispatched heavy machinery to the affected areas to clear landslide debris and restore road connectivity. Authorities have advised tourists and commuters to avoid unnecessary travel until the roads are reopened and weather conditions improve.
