HYDERABAD, Jul 20 (APP): An orientation ceremony for the newly admitted Batch-26 was held at the auditorium of Mehran University of Engineering and Technology (MUET), Jamshoro.
Addressing the ceremony, Vice Chancellor of MUET, Professor Dr. Tauha Hussain Ali, briefed the students about the scholarships, hostels, library, gymnasium, sports facilities, and other amenities available at the university.
He also provided details regarding the university’s academic system, student-related rules, regulations, and procedures.
The Vice Chancellor stated that Mehran University is ranked as the third-best engineering university in Pakistan and the top engineering university in Sindh.
He further said that engineering universities from nearly twenty countries are part of the Washington Accord, and Mehran University is among them.
Professor Dr. Tauha Hussain Ali emphasized that serving underprivileged, marginalized, and hardship-stricken communities is a mandatory requirement for obtaining a degree. Congratulating the newly admitted students, he said that they have embarked on an important phase of their lives by joining a professional degree-awarding institution.
He added that upon completing their graduation, they would receive their degrees in the same auditorium in the presence of their parents. He remarked that gaining admission to Mehran University is a significant achievement in life.
The ceremony was attended by newly enrolled students, deans of Mehran University, the Registrar, Professor Dr Nasrullah Pirzado, heads of academic and administrative departments, and faculty members.
