PESCO issues monsoon safety advisory, sets up control room ahead of expected rains
PESHAWAR, Jul 20 (APP): The Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO) on Monday announced that widespread monsoon rains are expected across its operational region over the next week and said all necessary arrangements have been completed to ensure an uninterrupted response during the weather spell.
A PESCO spokesperson said field teams would remain on high alert throughout the expected rainfall.
On the directives of PESCO Chief Akhtar Hameed Khan, a central control room has also been established at the PESCO Headquarters to monitor the situation and coordinate emergency response.
The company urged consumers to strictly follow safety precautions during the monsoon season.
It advised the public to stay away from electricity poles, power lines and transformers, keep children away from electrical installations, avoid touching electrical appliances with wet hands, and refrain from walking through water accumulated near electricity poles.
PESCO also advised consumers not to attempt repairing faulty electrical wiring on their own and to report electricity-related hazards to the relevant authorities immediately to prevent accidents.
