ISLAMABAD, Jul 20 (APP): Deputy Chairman Senate Syedaal Khan Nasar on Monday said sports are a powerful instrument for promoting national unity, discipline, healthy lifestyles and constructive engagement among youth.
Addressing an event held to watch the live screening of the international football final at a local hotel, he said Pakistan’s young generation possessed immense sporting talent that must be nurtured through better facilities, coaching and equal opportunities.
The event was organised by Muhammad Rauf Raja, Focal Person to the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme on Tourism and Hospitality, in collaboration with Best Western Premier Hotel Islamabad.
Among those in attendance were Muhammad Rauf Raja, General Manager of Best Western Premier Hotel Rashid Rauf Banday, FPCCI Vice President Tariq Jadoon, a delegation from the Rawalpindi Chamber of Small Traders and Small Industries, former international footballer Mubashir Sanjrani, the Ambassador of Palestine, diplomats from various embassies, members of the business community and young leaders.
The deputy chairman particularly highlighted the football talent in Balochistan, saying the province had consistently produced naturally gifted players who had represented Pakistan with distinction despite limited resources.
He said that with adequate investment in sports infrastructure, training academies and grassroots competitions, Balochistan could emerge as a major hub for football development in the country.
Syedaal Khan Nasar said encouraging sporting activities not only helped discover future champions but also kept young people positively engaged and contributed to national development.
He appreciated the efforts of the organisers for bringing together diplomats, members of the business community and youth through the universal language of football, adding that such initiatives strengthened people-to-people ties and promoted goodwill.
The Deputy chairman reaffirmed Parliament’s commitment to supporting initiatives aimed at empowering youth through sports, education and constructive community engagement.
Syedaal Khan Nasar appreciated the organisers and expressed hope that similar initiatives would continue to inspire Pakistan’s youth and foster a vibrant sporting culture across the country.
