The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) carried out eight operations across the country and arrested eight suspects,seizing 83.7 kilograms(kgs) of narcotics worth more than Rs 16 million, an ANF spokesman said on Monday.

RAWALPINDI, Jul 20 (APP):The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) carried out eight operations across the country and arrested eight suspects,seizing 83.7 kilograms(kgs) of narcotics worth more than Rs 16 million, an ANF spokesman said on Monday.
In operations linked to international trafficking, ANF officials recovered 2.2 kg of methamphetamine (ice) soaked in clothes from a parcel destined for Australia at the cargo shed of Jinnah International Airport in Karachi.
In Rawalpindi, ANF seized 1.2 kg of ice concealed in a steel container hidden inside a parcel bound for New Zealand.
During domestic interdiction operations, ANF recovered 38.4 kg of hashish from a vehicle near Ring Road in Peshawar and arrested two suspects.
In Karachi, 18 kg of hashish was seized from a truck near the Super Highway and one suspect was taken into custody.
In inter-provincial operations, ANF officials seized 7 kg of heroin from a vehicle near the Kala Shah Kaku Toll Plaza and arrested three suspects.
Near the M-1 Link Road in Rawalpindi, ANF recovered 7.2 kg of hashish from a vehicle and arrested one suspect.
Another 7.2 kg of hashish was recovered from a vehicle near Bedra Interchange in Mansehra, where one suspect was apprehended.
In a separate operation at a courier office on Nasir Bagh Road in Peshawar, ANF recovered 2.5 kg of ice concealed inside a mini electric oven.
The spokesman said cases had been registered against the arrested suspects under the Control of Narcotic Substances Act, 1997, and further investigations were underway.
