ATTOCK, Jul 20 (APP):Chairman, District Health Committee (DHC) Malik Hameed Akbar Khan said on Monday that the provincial government was pursuing policies aimed at improving women’s social and economic empowerment through welfare and vocational training programmes.
Malik Hameed Akbar Khan, a former candidate for the Punjab Assembly, said Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif was committed to promoting women’s professional development across the province.
He made the remarks while addressing a one-day beautician workshop organised by the Department of Social Welfare and Bait-ul-Maal in Attock at Sanat Zar, in collaboration with beauty products company Silk Feel.
The event was attended by local leaders of the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), including district president Muhammad Saleem Shehzad, Women’s Wing district president Khalida Masrat Rana, district general secretary Rashida Siddique, and Sanat Zar in-charge Arif Mahmood Siddiqui.
The workshop provided free practical training in beauty treatments, makeup techniques and professional beautician skills to women, with trainers from Silk Feel leading the sessions.
The organisers said the programme was intended to help women acquire vocational skills that could improve their employment and income opportunities.
Addressing participants, Khan pledged support for the development of Sanat Zar, adding vocational institutions backed by the government played an important role in helping women achieve financial independence and contribute to the local economy.
