PESHAWAR, Jul 18 (APP):Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) has imposed a strict ban on unnecessary welcoming ceremonies, flower bouquets, and celebratory activities for newly appointed officers, particularly Station House Officers (SHOs).
According to a police spokesperson, formal directives have been issued to all police stations across the district.
He said that field postings must be viewed strictly as a public service responsibility rather than an honorary or celebratory event.
The CCPO reiterated that foremost priority for all officers must remain crime prevention, arrest of criminals, maintenance of law and order, and protection of citizens’ lives and property.
Furthermore, directives explicitly prohibit recording or uploading videos of officer postings to social media platforms.
The administration clarified police performance will be judged solely on practical results, operational capacity, and effective public service, rather than personal projection or grand receptions.
He warned that any violation of these orders will be dealt with severely, and disciplinary action will be taken against non-compliant officials under prevailing rules and regulations.
The crackdown stems from reports that certain influential individuals, land grabbers, and facilitators of criminal elements were using these welcoming ceremonies to curry favor with newly posted SHOs, prompting decision to strictly enforce these new regulations and dismantle such networks.
