LAHORE, Jul 18 (APP): Zahid Parvez on Saturday assumed charge as the Managing Director of the Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) Lahore and pledged to accelerate the implementation of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s Green Lahore Vision through efficient project execution, environmental sustainability and enhanced urban beautification.
He was warmly received by senior officers upon his arrival at the PHA headquarters. Soon after assuming office, the newly appointed managing director chaired a high-level introductory meeting at the authority’s Jilani Park headquarters.
The meeting was attended by Additional Directors Nabeel Riaz Sandhu, Sonia Kaleem and Zona Waheed, Director Finance Ahmad Saeed Manj, Director Marketing Naeem Afzal, Director Coordination Farah Diba, Director Engineering Samavia, Muhammad Hassan, besides horticulture directors, project directors and other senior officials.
During the meeting, senior officers presented detailed briefings on ongoing development schemes, city beautification initiatives, horticulture activities and the authority’s administrative affairs. The managing director reviewed the pace of work on various projects aimed at improving Lahore’s green infrastructure and public spaces.
Addressing the meeting, Zahid Parvez directed all officers to ensure the effective implementation of the chief minister’s Green Lahore Vision, stressing that transparency, quality workmanship and timely completion of all ongoing projects must remain the authority’s top priorities.
He said the PHA was committed to providing citizens with a greener, cleaner and more environmentally sustainable urban environment through the expansion and preservation of parks, green belts and landscaped public spaces across the city.
The managing director emphasized that the authority’s objectives could only be achieved through teamwork, professional excellence, effective planning and close inter-departmental coordination. He urged officers to perform their responsibilities with dedication and efficiency to further enhance Lahore’s beauty and environmental health.
Expressing confidence in the team’s capabilities, Zahid Parvez said the PHA would make every effort to transform Lahore into a greener, more vibrant and aesthetically appealing metropolitan city in line with the vision of the Punjab government.
