KARACHI, Jul 17 (APP): The Sindh government has decided to open the mixed traffic lane of University Road soon to improve Karachi’s traffic and provide relief to the citizens as soon as possible.
This decision was announced in an important meeting on the Red Line BRT project chaired by Sindh Senior Minister and Minister for Information, Transport and Mass Transit Sharjeel Inam Memon, in which a detailed review of the ongoing construction work and overall progress on the project was taken.
The meeting was attended by Secretary Transport Asad Zamin, Chief Executive Officer Trans Karachi Zubair Channa, project consultants and other senior officials of the concerned institutions.
During the meeting, a detailed briefing was given on the ongoing construction activities on various sections of the project, the challenges faced and the steps taken to resolve them immediately.
The officials said that the work on the Red Line BRT project is progressing rapidly and all the concerned institutions are working with mutual communication and effective coordination to further accelerate the progress on various sections.
Addressing the meeting, Sharjeel said that the Red Line BRT project is an important and revolutionary travel project for the people of Karachi, the timely completion of which is one of the top priorities of the Sindh government.
He said that the Sindh government is taking vigorous steps to provide better, safe, modern and environment-friendly travel facilities to the citizens.
