RAWALPINDI, Jul 17 (APP): Commissioner Rawalpindi Division, Salman Ghani, on Friday ordered the mandatory and prominent display of staff duty rosters at the main entrances of all public health facilities to curb absenteeism and facilitate incoming patients. The Commissioner issued these directives during a surprise inspection of the Maryam Nawaz Health Clinic (MNHC) at Dhoke Par to review administrative operations, medicine stocks, and public service delivery. Salman Ghani warned that the provincial government directed zero tolerance regarding negligence of staff attendance, instructed hospital administrations, and ordered doctors and paramedical staff to strictly adhere to their designated timings. Accompanied by Assistant Commissioner (AC) Cantonment, Saad-ur-Rehman and senior health officials, the commissioner inspected the vaccination counter, ultrasound room, and maternal healthcare departments, where free delivery and antenatal facilities were being offered. During his interaction with patients to gauge public satisfaction, Salman Ghani directed the health department to ensure an uninterrupted supply of life-saving medicines, warning that any artificial shortage of essential drugs would meet with strict disciplinary action. He maintained that the Punjab government was committed to providing premium healthcare facilities at the doorsteps of the public, describing the newly established clinics as a practical manifestation of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s health vision.
The commissioner also underlined the need for upgrading basic infrastructure, directing the staff to maintain high standards of hygiene, functional washrooms, and comfortable waiting areas with clean drinking water.
He further directed the administration to digitise patient registration and medicine inventory systems to ensure complete transparency, while keeping an active complaint cell to resolve public grievances on the spot.
