SIALKOT, Jul 17 (APP): The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) on Friday seized 2,463 litres of counterfeit carbonated beverages during a targeted crackdown in Pasrur tehsil. According to a PFA spokesperson, specialized Food Safety Teams raided a trader’s premises in Pasrur’s Sabzi Mandi and allegedly found counterfeit beverages bearing the labels of well-known soft drink brands. The entire stock was confiscated on the spot. In a separate raid at a shop in Mohalla Tajpura, the PFA recovered a large quantity of beverages deceptively packaged to resemble popular soft drink brands. Officials collected samples of the suspected beverages and sent them to a laboratory for chemical analysis to determine their composition and assess their compliance with food safety standards. The spokesperson said a case was registered against the trader involved, while further investigation was underway.
