ANF arrests nine suspects, seizes over 45 kg of narcotics in nationwide operations

The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) conducted six operations around educational institutions and in various cities across the country and arrested nine suspects, seizing 45.48 kilograms(kgs) of narcotics worth more than Rs 6.8 million, an ANF spokesman said on Thursday.

During an operation near Shaheen Chowk in Gujrat, ANF recovered 1.25 kg of hashish from a suspect. The spokesman said the arrested man confessed during initial interrogation to supplying drugs to students of educational institutions.
In an operation at Bacha Khan International Airport, authorities recovered 900 grams of methamphetamine (ice) and 30 grams of heroin from the luggage of two passengers travelling to Jeddah.
In Peshawar, ANF seized 15.6 kg of opium from a vehicle near Charsadda Road and arrested two suspects.
In another operation near China Chowk in Sialkot, officials recovered 4.7 kg of ice from two suspects,and arrested them.
Separately, ANF recovered 15 kg of hashish concealed in an oil tanker near Hyderabad Toll Plaza in Jamshoro and arrested the driver.
In Dera Ghazi Khan, ANF intercepted a truck near Ghazi Ghat Toll Plaza and recovered 8 kg of ice and arrested the suspect.
The spokesman said cases had been registered against all the accused under the Control of Narcotic Substances Act, 1997, and further investigations were underway.
