DERA ISMAIL KHAN , Jul 15 (APP): The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety and Halal Food Authority (KPFS&HFA), in collaboration with the Livestock Department, intensified its crackdown against adulterated food items by inspecting milk transport vehicles and food outlets in Dera Ismail Khan and Paharpur.
According to the Food Safety Authority, a joint checking point was established at Bhakkar Bridge where milk tankers and motorcycles carrying milk were inspected. Food safety officials collected milk samples and tested them on the spot.
The inspection revealed water adulteration and reduced fat content in several samples, following which fines were imposed on the violators under the relevant food safety regulations.
In a separate operation in Paharpur, food safety teams inspected various food outlets to ensure compliance with hygiene and food quality standards.
During the inspections, fines were imposed on businesses found selling substandard food items, while operators were directed to strictly adhere to food safety regulations.
The Food Safety Authority reiterated its commitment to ensuring the availability of safe and quality food for the public and warned that indiscriminate action against food adulteration and other violations would continue across the district.
