HYDERABAD, Jul 14 (APP): Deputy Commissioner Jamshoro Zain-ul-Abideen Memon on Tuesday chaired a meeting to review measures for preventing illegal wheat hoarding and ensuring the adequate supply of flour across the district.
According to a handout, the meeting decided to launch indiscriminate legal action against individuals and businesses involved in illegal wheat storage while ensuring strict implementation of the government’s wheat policy.
Addressing the meeting, the deputy commissioner directed District Food Controller Shahzad Ahmed Shahani to take immediate legal action against traders and flour mills found storing wheat beyond the government-prescribed limit.
He also ordered strict action against unlicensed flour mills, stating that no illegal activity would be tolerated.
The district food controller informed the meeting that operations had already been carried out against illegal wheat hoarding in Sehwan and Kotri talukas.
