PESHAWAR, Jul 14 (APP): A convoy of 21 containers carrying food assistance under the World Food Programme (WFP) has arrived at the Torkham border in Khyber District for delivery to the people of Afghanistan.
According to border sources on Tuesday, all required legal and customs formalities for the aid shipment have been completed. However, the containers are awaiting clearance from the Afghan authorities before they can cross the border. Once permission is granted, the food supplies will be transported into Afghanistan to support communities facing food shortages. The World Food Programme continues to provide humanitarian assistance to countries affected by food insecurity. The latest shipment is part of ongoing international efforts to help meet the urgent nutritional needs of the Afghan population.
