FAISALABAD, Jul 13 (APP):The livestock department and Punjab Food Authority in a joint operation, unearthed an illegal slaughterhouse in Rehman city, Talianwala road on Monday.
The team during the operation seized about 350 kg of buffalo meat from the site.
Senior Veterinary Officer Dr Farhan Siddique, after inspecting, declared the meat harmful to human health.
The meat was destroyed in accordance with legal requirements, while the accused was handed over to the police and a case was registered against him.
The Additional Director Livestock said that indiscriminate action against illegal slaughterhouses and those selling substandard meat will continue in the future to ensure the provision of safe, quality and healthy meat to the public.
