Two police personnel were martyred and two others injured when an improvised explosive device (IED) struck a police armoured personnel carrier (APC) during a routine patrol in Tank district on Monday.

DERA ISMAIL KHAN, Jul 13 (APP): Two police personnel were martyred and two others injured when an improvised explosive device (IED) struck a police armoured personnel carrier (APC) during a routine patrol in Tank district on Monday.
According to police, the blast occurred near Masha Jan Bungalow in Grah Hayat village, on the Wana-Jandola Road, within the jurisdiction of Shaheed Mureed Akbar Police Station.
The martyred policemen were identified as Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Fareedullah and Constable Akhtar Zaman. The injured included Constables Abdul Malik and Qudratullah, who were initially shifted to the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital in Tank and later referred to DHQ HOSPITAL Dera Ismail Khan.
Preliminary investigations suggested that the explosion was caused by a remote-controlled IED. Following the attack, security was tightened across the district and a search operation was launched to trace those responsible.
