PPP stages protest in Sanghar against Indian water aggression

SANGHAR, Jul 12 (APP): The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) organised a district-level protest rally in Sanghar against India’s water aggression and violation of the Indus Waters Treaty.
The protest, held under the slogan “Marsoon Marsoon, Sindhu Na Desoon” (We will die but never surrender the Indus), commenced from the residence of PPP Taluka President Aijaz Hussain Zardari where the participants marched in form of a rally and raised slogans in support of the Indus River.
Among those who attended were PPP Sanghar President and Sindh Assembly member Ali Hassan Hingorjo, District General Secretary Jahangir Junejo, District Information Secretary Imran Dhamrah, Ladies Wing President Rukhsana Shar, Minority Wing President Man Mohan Das, Cultural Wing President Abdul Sattar Khaskheli, Youth Wing President Khadim Hussain Khaskheli, Tando Adam Municipal Chairman Murtaza Junejo, Taluka President Umar Gul Hingorjo, City President Ghulam Haider Panhoor, Khair Shah Jilani, Municipal Chairman Rashid Islam Mughal, Rana Rashid, Rana Anwar, Haji Asif Ali Rand, Nadir Ali Mari, Gul Muhammad Dahri, Yasir Mari and other party leaders and workers.
Addressing the gathering, speakers said the Indus River was the backbone of Pakistan’s agriculture, economy and livelihood, adding that any infringement on the country’s water rights or violation of the Indus Waters Treaty was unacceptable.
They said the nation stood united to safeguard its water resources and pledged that no compromise would be made on the rights of the Indus River.
