The Minister of Labour and Social Security of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), Oguzhan Hasipoglu, on Sunday met with members of the Pakistani media in Islamabad on the sidelines of the 9th Ministerial Conference on the Role of Women in the Development of OIC Member States.
TRNC Seeks Sovereign Recognition and Equal International Status: Minister Oguzhan Hasipoglu
ISLAMABAD, Jul 12 (APP): The Minister of Labour and Social Security of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), Oguzhan Hasipoglu, on Sunday met with members of the Pakistani media in Islamabad on the sidelines of the 9th Ministerial Conference on the Role of Women in the Development of OIC Member States.
During the meeting, Minister Hasipoglu outlined the TRNC’s position on the Cyprus issue, emphasizing the principles of sovereign equality and the equal international status of the Turkish Cypriot people. He stated that the people of the TRNC seek recognition as a sovereign state and should have the right to represent themselves within the international community. He also highlighted the TRNC’s growing engagement with Islamic countries, underscored the importance of strengthening cooperation with the Muslim world, and expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s constructive stance on the TRNC issue. In addition, he acknowledged the contribution of Pakistanis living in the TRNC.
The Minister also exchanged views on developments in the Middle East, stressing the importance of dialogue, regional stability, and enhanced cooperation among OIC member states in addressing shared challenges.
The meeting provided an opportunity for a constructive exchange of views between the Minister and Pakistani journalists on issues of regional and international significance.
