ISLAMABAD, Jul 12 (APP): Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani on Sunday expressed profound grief over the passing of former Qatari Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani and extended heartfelt condolences to Qatar’s leadership and people.
In a statement, Gilani described the late Sheikh Hamad as a visionary statesman whose leadership transformed Qatar into a modern, prosperous and globally respected nation.
Paying tribute to the former Emir, the Chairman Senate said Sheikh Hamad’s remarkable contributions to economic development, regional stability, international dialogue and cooperation would be remembered for generations.
He added that the late leader’s enduring legacy would continue to inspire people around the world.
On behalf of the Senate of Pakistan and the people of Pakistan, Gilani conveyed his sincere condolences to the Amir of the State of Qatar, the Government of Qatar and its people over the irreparable loss.
He also prayed that Almighty Allah grant the departed soul the highest place in Jannat-ul-Firdous and bless the bereaved family and the people of Qatar with patience and strength during this difficult time.
