Police solve six-month-old blind murder of Rent-a-Car driver

RAWALPINDI, Jul 12 (APP): Police have solved the six-month-old blind murder case of a rent-a-car driver by arresting a proclaimed offender (POs) allegedly involved in the killing, police said on Sunday.
According to police spokesperson, the suspect, along with his accomplices, had hired the victim’s vehicle from Lahore before the incident.
When the vehicle reached the Mandra area, the accused allegedly developed an argument with the driver after the car broke down.
During the altercation, the suspects opened fire on the driver, killing him on the spot before fleeing the scene with the vehicle.
Police had initially registered a case against unidentified suspects after an unidentified body was recovered.
Tracing the culprits was a major challenge. However, Mandra Police used technical investigation and human intelligence to identify and trace the proclaimed offender (POs) who was subsequently arrested.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Saddar, Anum Sher, said the accused would be presented before the court with substantial evidence to ensure legal action in accordance with the law. The efforts are underway to arrest the other accomplices involved in the case, the police spokesperson added.
