Attock Police on Saturday arrested nine suspects and recovered 4.4 kilograms of hashish, large quantities of liquor and an illegal firearm during a series of operations carried out across the district over the past 24 hours as part of an intensified crackdown on crime.

ATTOCK, Jul 11 (APP): Attock Police on Saturday arrested nine suspects and recovered 4.4 kilograms of hashish, large quantities of liquor and an illegal firearm during a series of operations carried out across the district over the past 24 hours as part of an intensified crackdown on crime.
According to police, the raids were conducted on the directions of District Police Officer (DPO) Sardar Moawar Khan by teams from Fateh Jang, Hassanabdal City, Attock Saddar, Attock City, Hazro, Pindigheb and Bahter police stations. The operations led to the seizure of 4,400 grams of hashish, 50 litres of liquor, 30 bottles of liquor and one illegal .30 bore pistol.
Police said three suspects—identified as Sajid Khan, son of Shafqat; Sajid Khan, son of Umar Hayat; and Shafqat, son of Qalandar—were arrested during checking in the jurisdiction of Hazro Police Station, where hashish was allegedly recovered from their possession. In separate operations, Bahter Police arrested Shamraiz Khan, son of Muhammad Zari, and allegedly recovered 20 litres of liquor, while additional quantities of liquor were seized from suspects arrested by Hazro and Pindigheb police. Fateh Jang Police also arrested Nisar, son of Muhammad Nawaz, and allegedly recovered an illegal .30 bore pistol.
Police said separate cases had been registered against all the suspects under relevant legal provisions, and they had been taken into custody for further investigation. The allegations are based on police claims, and the suspects are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law. Police said the district-wide campaign against criminals and anti-social elements would continue without discrimination.
