Two robbers killed in police encounter

MUZAFFARGARH, Jul 11 (APP): Two suspected robbers were killed in an alleged police encounter near Tariq Chowk in Kot Addu, here on Saturday.

According to police, the suspects had allegedly snatched a motorcycle at gunpoint from a citizen near Tariq Chowk and were attempting to flee when they opened fire on a police patrol.

Police said the patrol returned fire, killing the two suspects identified as Tanveer and Ghulam Siddique.

The deceased were stated to be residents of Dera Ismail Khan and Thatta Gurmani respectively.

Rescue officials shifted the bodies to the District Headquarters Hospital, Kot Addu under police supervision while police said further legal proceedings was underway.
