PHC seeks KP government’s reply on WSSP employees’ regularisation plea

PESHAWAR, Jul 10 (APP): The Peshawar High Court (PHC) has sought a response from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government and the relevant authorities on a petition filed by hundreds of employees of the Water and Sanitation Services Peshawar (WSSP) seeking regularisation of their services and the introduction of a service structure.
Issuing a short order, the court directed the provincial government and WSSP authorities to submit their replies within two weeks.
Counsel for the petitioners informed the court that WSSP employees still had no approved service structure and that more than 1,800 workers had been deprived of the facility for several years.
The petitioners’ counsel argued that a similar institution in Punjab had already introduced a service structure and completed the process of regularising its employees, whereas the issues facing WSSP employees in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa remained unresolved.
After hearing the preliminary arguments, the court sought replies from the provincial government and WSSP authorities and adjourned further proceedings in the case.
