ORIC meeting at GCWUF finalises KPIs to translate research into revenue

FAISALABAD, Jul 10 (APP):The second steering committee meeting of the Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialisation (ORIC) was held at Government College Women University Faisalabad (GCWUF), here on Friday.
Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Kanwal Ameen (T.I.) chaired the meeting, while former president FCCI and Chief Executive Officer KEY & EMMs (Pvt.) Ltd. Dr. Khurram Tariq were also in presence.
The meeting was attended by Director Interloop Farzana Musadaq, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Allied Traders M Azhar Chaudhry and Dr Muhammad Usama from FAST. Director ORIC Dr Sadia Asim presented the Centre’s progress report and meeting agenda. The committee reviewed and finalised key performance indicators (KPIs) to translate research into revenue.
The Intellectual Property Rights and Commercialization Policy 2026 was also presented to the members for feedback. Industry representatives assured cooperation in research projects, professional training, and industrial exposure for GCWUF students and researchers.
In a significant development, Dr. Khurram Tariq announced industry-funded startup grants for selected students, supported by Ms. Farzana Musadaq and Mr. M. Azhar Chaudhry.
Prof. Dr. Kanwal Ameen emphasized stronger academia–industry alignment to develop GCWUF as a hub of innovation and informed the members that the University’s Finance and Planning Committee had approved funding for research, commercialization, and outreach.
The productive meeting concluded with practical steps to strengthen research, innovation, commercialization, and academia–industry collaboration.
