Punjab A, Sindh B storm into PM National Women’s U-21 Hockey Championship final

ISLAMABAD, Jul 09 (APP):Punjab A and Sindh B secured their places in the final of the Prime Minister National Women’s Under-21 Hockey Championship 2026 after winning their respective semi-finals at Naseer Bunda Hockey Stadium, Islamabad, on Thursday.
The championship, being organized by Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) with the support of Alaska Batteries, PTCL and PARCO, will conclude on Friday.

In the first semi-final, Punjab A defeated Olympian Zakir Women’s Academy 2-0. Shariqa and Yashfa scored one goal each to guide Punjab A into the title clash.

In the second semi-final, Sindh B outclassed Islamabad 3-0. Shireen netted twice, while Anosha added one goal to seal a convincing victory for Sindh B.

Following the results, Punjab A and Sindh B will compete in the championship final, while Olympian Zakir Women’s Academy and Islamabad will face each other in the third-place playoff.

Tournament Director Shafique Bhatti, Assistant Tournament Director Rahat Khan, Assistant Tournament Organising Secretary Chand Parveen, Scrutiny Committee member Abida Tanveer, Event Coordinator Waqas Sheikh, Coordinator Habib ur Rehman, Assistant Coordinator Khawar Javed, Umpire Manager Benish Hayat, Focal Person Lt. Col. Abdul Nasir Akhundzada and Competition Manager Najeeb Khattak were present on the occasion.

A total of 16 teams from across the country are participating in the championship. The competing teams include Punjab A and B, Gilgit-Baltistan, Star Women Academy A and B, FD Islamabad, KP A and B, Women’s Sports Academy Mardan, AJK A and B, Olympian Zakir Women’s Academy, Sindh A, B and C, Balochistan, and Islamabad.
