TORGHAR, Jul 08 (APP): Deputy Commissioner Torghar, Dr Yasir Imran, has imposed Section 144 along the Indus River and other vulnerable water channels in the district as a precautionary measure against potential hazards arising from rising water levels during the monsoon season.
The decision was taken during a meeting chaired by the deputy commissioner to review the increasing flow in the Indus River and local streams and assess the preparedness of relevant departments. Officials briefed the meeting on boating operations and other water-related activities, while also outlining potential risks and ongoing safety arrangements.
Dr Yasir Imran directed all concerned departments to ensure strict implementation of precautionary measures and take proactive steps to safeguard lives and prevent any untoward incidents. He emphasized that all relevant agencies should remain fully alert and coordinated to effectively respond to any emergency situation during the monsoon season.
