Zone IV upset unbeaten Zone VI in Karachi U-19 one-day cricket league
KARACHI, Jul 06 (APP):Zone IV stunned table-toppers Zone VI with a four-wicket victory, while Zone VII and Zone III also registered convincing wins in the Regional Inter-District Under-19 (Karachi Region) One-Day Cricket League played at various venues on Monday.
Organised by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), the day’s play was highlighted by Ali Sher’s superb century of 109 and impressive bowling performances from Sahil, who claimed 5 for 28, and Asadullah Khan, who returned figures of 4 for 23.
At the KCCA Stadium, Zone IV dismissed Zone VI for 133 in 34.1 overs despite Huzaifa Ahsan’s 59 and Abdul Sami’s 20. Amanullah led the bowling attack with 3 for 24, while Muhammad Masham Hussain Siddiqui, Saad Manan and Huzaifa Bin Sajid shared six wickets.
Zone IV reached the target at 136 for 6 in 43 overs, with Aun Abbas scoring 59 and Rana Areeb Aftab contributing 25. Saad Sakhawat claimed 3 for 33 and Jawad Ahmed took 2 for 26 for Zone VI.
At the UBL Sports Complex, Zone VII defeated Zone I by 131 runs after posting 263 in 47.5 overs. Ali Sher starred with a brilliant 109, while Shamroz Khan made 34 and Talah Irfan Sheikh added 28.
In reply, Zone I were bowled out for 132 in 33 overs. Muhammad Usman Khan top-scored with 30. Sahil produced a match-winning spell of 5 for 28, while Shahid Habib and Shamroz Khan claimed two wickets each.
At Eid Gah Ground, Korangi, Zone III outclassed Zone V by nine wickets. Zone V were dismissed for 104 in 31.5 overs, with Rayyan Chauhan and Ahmed Shahzad scoring 23 runs apiece. Asadullah Khan claimed 4 for 23, while Muhammad Ali and Anas Baloch provided effective support.
Zone III comfortably chased the target in 20.3 overs, finishing on 105 for 1. Haider Ali scored 47, while Amanullah remained unbeaten on 39 to seal the victory.
