Thousands attend Khanpur’s first major technology summit, youth urged to embrace future skills

PESHAWAR, Jul 05 (APP):Calling on young Pakistanis to prepare for a rapidly evolving digital economy, speakers at the Metrix Pakistan Khanpur Tech Summit 2026 stressed the importance of acquiring technology-driven skills, innovation and entrepreneurship to remain competitive in the years ahead.
The summit, organised by Metrix Pakistan in collaboration with the Directorate of Youth Affairs, Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Grow Pakistan and Mehmar, drew thousands of participants to TMA Hall, Khanpur on Sunday, making it the largest technology-focused gathering ever held in the town.
More than 15 speakers from the technology industry, business sector, academia and youth development addressed students, entrepreneurs and aspiring professionals during keynote sessions, panel discussions and interactive question-and-answer sessions.
Among the keynote speakers were Qaisar Akash Khan, Chief Executive Officer of Dilijent Systems; Ammad Ali, Chief Executive Officer of RankingGrow; Hassan Nisar, Chief Executive Officer Metrix Pakistan; women’s empowerment advocate, Amina Mishkat; former teacher Zia Uddin; youth leader Waqar Bin Saif; cyber security expert Abdullah Ismail; IT expert and motivational speaker Muhammad Ali and Abdullah Muneer, Chief Executive Officer of Grow Pakistan.
The speakers highlighted the growing impact of artificial intelligence, cyber security, digital marketing, software development, freelancing and entrepreneurship, urging young people to continuously upgrade their skills in line with emerging technologies.
Addressing the participants, the speakers observed that technological change is reshaping economies across the world and creating new opportunities for those equipped with digital knowledge.
They encouraged students to invest in practical skills, innovation and lifelong learning rather than relying solely on conventional career paths.
Participants were also encouraged to make productive use of digital platforms, build technology-based businesses and contribute to Pakistan’s growing digital economy through innovation and responsible leadership.
The organisers said the summit aimed to connect young people with industry experts and provide a platform where students could interact directly with professionals working in different sectors of technology and business.
Khanpur, situated in the Haripur district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, is widely known for the scenic Khanpur Dam, one of the province’s leading tourism and water sports destinations.
In recent years, the area has increasingly attracted educational, sporting and youth engagement activities. Organisers said hosting a technology summit of this scale marked an important milestone for the town and reflected the growing interest of local youth in innovation and digital careers.
The event concluded with networking sessions between participants and speakers, with organisers expressing their commitment to making the Khanpur Tech Summit an annual platform to promote technology, entrepreneurship and youth development in the region.
