RAWALPINDI, Jul 04 (APP):Professor Dr Iqbal Mahmood on Saturday officially assumed charge as the Chairman of the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Rawalpindi, pledging to uphold merit, transparency, and modern reforms in the examination system.
Upon his arrival at the board office, the newly appointed chairman was welcomed by Board Secretary Professor Amjad Iqbal, Controller of Examinations Tanveer Asghar Awan and representatives of academic and staff welfare associations.
Chairing an introductory meeting with board officials, Dr Mahmood was briefed on the administrative operations, ongoing initiatives, and structural workflow of various departments.
Addressing the officials, Dr Mahmood stated that he considers his appointment a national trust and vowed to transform BISE Rawalpindi into a highly efficient, transparent, and student-friendly institution to strengthen public trust in the examination system.
He emphasized that in line with the Punjab Government’s educational policies, the board will prioritize merit, good governance, the timely conduct of examinations, and the implementation of modern digital reforms to facilitate students and parents efficiently.
The chairman urged the board’s officers and staff to work cohesively with integrity and discipline to position BISE Rawalpindi among the premier educational boards in the country.
Dr Iqbal previously served as the Principal of Government Graduate College Abdullahpur, Faisalabad.
