LAHORE, Jul 03 (APP):The Punjab government has taken an important administrative decision and has formally appointed Mian Salik Jalal as permanent IG Prisons Punjab. A notification in this regard was issued by Punjab Chief Secretary Zahid Akhtar Zaman.
According to the details, Mian Salik Jalal was earlier holding the additional charge of IG Prisons. He was temporarily performing the duties of this post, but now he has been appointed to this post permanently.
This post had fallen vacant after the retirement of former IG Prisons Mian Farooq Nazir, after which this appointment was made at the administrative level.
According to the officials, the aim of this appointment is to make the prison system more effective and organized.
