Punjab advancing towards Asia’s AI hub: Ali Dar
LAHORE, Jul 03 (APP):Advisor to the Chief Minister Punjab on AI & Special Initiatives, Ali Dar, met with a high-level international delegation here on Friday.
The delegation was led by Mazen Abdullah, Head of Google for Education, Middle East and North Africa. The delegation also included senior representatives from Google, Allied Australia, Tech Valley Pakistan, and the National Radio & Telecommunication Corporation (NRTC).
The meeting focused on the impact of Google’s educational digitalization initiatives in Punjab and explored future collaboration in Artificial Intelligence, digital education, and technology-driven transformation.
Speaking on the occasion, Ali Dar said that under the vision of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Punjab is taking decisive steps to emerge as South Asia’s leading hub for Artificial Intelligence.
He noted that the government is leveraging education, technology, and AI to accelerate the province’s transition towards a modern digital economy while equipping young people with future-ready AI and digital skills.
Ali Dar emphasised that partnerships with global technology leaders such as Google will play a pivotal role in building a world-class AI ecosystem in Punjab. He added that integrating advanced technology into education is fundamental to developing a knowledge-based society and preparing the next generation for the evolving global economy.
He further stated that collaboration with international technology organizations will attract investment, foster innovation, and create new employment opportunities across the province.
The Office of AI Punjab, he said, is actively building strategic global partnerships to position Punjab as a leading center for Artificial Intelligence, digital innovation, and emerging technologies in South Asia.
