Suspect arrested in UC Chairman murder case

District West Police on Friday arrested the alleged motorcycle rider involved in the murder of Union Council No. 5 Chairman Faisal Abbasi during a targeted operation based on intelligence and CCTV footage.

KARACHI, Jul 03 (APP): District West Police on Friday arrested the alleged motorcycle rider involved in the murder of Union Council No. 5 Chairman Faisal Abbasi during a targeted operation based on intelligence and CCTV footage.
According to a District West Police spokesman, unidentified assailants opened fire at the UC-05 office in Sector 10, Ghausia Chowk, on the night of July 1.
As a result of the firing, UC-05 Chairman Faisal Abbasi was killed, while Fahad Abbasi and Fahad Jamal alias Shani sustained injuries.
The spokesman said Mominabad Police arrested the suspect, identified as Abdul Hameed alias Kaka, son of Islam, who allegedly acted as the motorcycle rider for the main assailant.
Police also recovered an illegal weapon along with ammunition from the possession of the accused.
A case has been registered against the suspect, who has been handed over to the investigating authorities for further legal action. Efforts were underway to arrest the remaining suspects involved in the case.
