FAISALABAD, Jul 03 (APP): The Department of Art & Design, Government College for Women University, Faisalabad (GCWUF), arranged a two-day ‘Degree Show-2026’, here on Friday.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Kanwal Ameen (T.I.), accompanied by President, Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FCCI) Farooq Yousaf Sheikh, and Mrs. Farzana Musaddiq, Interloop Limited, inaugurated the show.
The Vice-Chancellor along with the distinguished guests visited the exhibition and appreciated the artwork, creative designs, and innovative projects presented by seven graduating students.
Through diverse visual expressions, the students addressed contemporary social issues while reflecting the strength, resilience, creativity, and aspirations of young women determined to contribute meaningfully to society despite challenges and barriers.
Speaking on the occasion, FCCI President Farooq Yousaf Sheikh and Mrs. Farzana Musaddiq commended the students’ creativity, innovative thinking, and artistic excellence.
They noted that the exhibition reflected the confidence, determination, and resilience of young women who are prepared to play a meaningful role in social and economic development.
They also emphasized the growing importance of art and design in fostering the creative economy, entrepreneurship, and youth empowerment.
Prof. Dr. Kanwal Ameen stated that degree shows provide an important platform for students to showcase their talent, confidence, and professional capabilities.
She remarked that the exhibition demonstrated not only artistic excellence but also the determination of women to overcome challenges and contribute actively to society through creativity, innovation, and leadership.
She further noted that GCWUF is committed to nurturing empowered graduates who are ready to shape the future and serve as agents of positive change.
She also appreciated the efforts of Dr. Tooba Najam, Incharge Department of Art & Design, and her team for successfully organizing the event.
Faculty members, students, industry representatives, and guests from various sectors attended the inauguration and highly appreciated the students’ work.
The exhibition remains open to the public till July 4.
