QUETTA, Jul 03 (APP): A tragic passenger bus accident in the Danasar area on the Balochistan-Khyber Pakhtunkhwa border has claimed the lives of 40 passengers and left 8 others injured, said Shahid Rind, Aide to the Chief Minister of Balochistan for Political and Media Affairs.
Shahid Rind expressed deep sorrow over the incident, noting that the accident involved a bus traveling with its own passengers as well as additional travelers from another bus that had broken down earlier, resulting in overcrowding.
He said that upon receiving news of the accident, Chief Minister of Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti, immediately directed his staff officer, Syed Ameen, to establish contact with the district administrations of both provinces. Rescue and relief operations were launched without delay, with district authorities, rescue agencies, and relevant departments working to provide urgent medical assistance to the injured and support to the affected families.
Shahid Rind confirmed that district officials are conducting a detailed investigation into the causes of the accident, while efforts are underway to identify the deceased, treat the injured, and extend all possible assistance to the victims’ families.
He emphasized that the Balochistan government stands in solidarity with the bereaved families, offering heartfelt condolences and prayers for the speedy recovery of the injured. He assured that the government will provide full support to the affected families and that the findings of the investigation will be made public once completed.
