Green Property Certificate System launched in Khanewal

The Punjab government has introduced the Green Property Certificate system in Khanewal district as part of its Digital Punjab initiative, replacing the conventional land ownership record (Fard) with a modern and secure digital mechanism.

KHANEWAL, Jul 02 (APP): The Punjab government has introduced the Green Property Certificate system in Khanewal district as part of its Digital Punjab initiative, replacing the conventional land ownership record (Fard) with a modern and secure digital mechanism.
Deputy Commissioner Maliha Rashid chaired a meeting on the implementation of the Green Property Certificate system, which was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Fazal Abbas, Assistant Commissioners, Tehsildars and Land Record officers.
The meeting was informed that, in line with the Punjab government’s directives, the Green Property Certificate system came into effect across the district from July 1, 2026, for all categories of public and private properties. With the enforcement of the new system, the issuance of the conventional Fard has been discontinued.
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Maliha Rashid said the Green Property Certificate would ensure greater transparency, uniqueness and enhanced protection of property records. She said the digital system would provide citizens with secure, reliable and efficient land record services while strengthening the overall property management framework.
Briefing the participants, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Fazal Abbas said the issuance of the Green Property Certificate has become mandatory from July 1, 2026, and the traditional Fard would no longer be issued.
The deputy commissioner directed all concerned officers to ensure the effective implementation of the new system and urged citizens to benefit from the Punjab government’s latest digital initiative by obtaining Green Property Certificates to safeguard their property records.
