ISLAMABAD, Jul 02 (APP): Hatem Bamatraf has taken over as Chief Executive Officer of Pak Telecom Mobile Limited (PTML), while the Board of Directors of Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) has appointed Group Chief Financial Officer Nadeem Khan as the company’s Chief Executive Officer with immediate effect for a period of 14 days.
According to a news release issued on Thursday, the leadership transition follows the successful completion of the amalgamation of Telenor Pakistan into PTML, which operates under the Ufone 5G brand.
Nadeem Khan is a Chartered Accountant with more than two decades of association with the PTCL Group.
He joined Ufone as Chief Financial Officer in 2003 and served in that role for 10 years before a brief tenure on the Board of U Microfinance Bank Limited.
In 2017, he was appointed Group Chief Financial Officer of the PTCL Group, where he led the company’s financial strategy during a period of significant transformation, including the acquisition of Telenor Pakistan.
He also serves as a member of the Accounting Standards Board of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan.
Bamatraf, who served as President and CEO of PTCL and Ufone for the past five years, stepped down from his role at PTCL to assume his new responsibilities as Chief Executive Officer of PTML.
The company said the leadership transition would ensure continuity across both PTCL and PTML as the two organisations enter their next phase of growth.
