KP excise Dept seizes over 31kg of narcotics, arrests multiple suspects in province-wide crackdown

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Department seized more than 31 kilograms of narcotics and arrested multiple suspects during coordinated operations in Peshawar, Nowshera, Khyber, Abbottabad and Kohat as part of the provincial government’s zero-tolerance policy against drugs.

PESHAWAR, Jul 02 (APP): The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Department seized more than 31 kilograms of narcotics and arrested multiple suspects during coordinated operations in Peshawar, Nowshera, Khyber, Abbottabad and Kohat as part of the provincial government’s zero-tolerance policy against drugs.
According to an official handout issued on Thursday, the department recovered a total of 31.493 kilograms of narcotics during separate operations and registered cases against the arrested suspects at the respective Excise police stations. Further investigations are underway.
In Nowshera, Excise Police intercepted a motorcycle at the Ajeeb Bagh Excise Check Post on GT Road and foiled an attempt to smuggle 18 kilograms of hashish.
In Peshawar, the Excise Bureau of Intelligence and Investigation arrested a motorcyclist near the Service Road and recovered six kilograms of hashish during an operation based on intelligence information.
In Khyber district, Excise Police arrested a woman alleged to be involved in drug smuggling after a lady constable searched her near the Jamrud Bypass and recovered 3.6 kilograms of hashish.
Meanwhile, the newly established Excise Police Station in Kohat arrested an alleged drug trafficker and seized 3.6 kilograms of hashish from his possession.
In Abbottabad, the Excise Bureau of Intelligence and Investigation Hazara Squad arrested a suspect near the Havelian Interchange and recovered 293 grams of heroin.
The Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Department said its operations against drug dealers and smugglers would continue without discrimination, reaffirming its commitment to protecting the younger generation and eliminating narcotics from society.
