PESHAWAR, Jul 02 (APP): Rescue 1122 Khyber Pakhtunkhwa responded to 23,507 emergencies across the province during June, providing timely rescue and medical assistance to 28,229 people, Director General Rescue 1122 Shah Fahad said on Thursday.
According to the Rescue 1122 spokesperson, the emergency service handled 14,792 medical emergencies, 1,962 road traffic accidents, 721 fire incidents, 457 crime-related emergencies, 113 drowning cases, 27 building collapse incidents and 644 other emergencies during the month.
The Director General said a total of 529 people lost their lives in various accidents and emergency incidents during June, while Rescue 1122 personnel saved numerous lives by providing prompt emergency response and medical assistance to thousands of victims.
He further said the emergency service shifted 4,948 patients during the month, including 2,340 patients transferred between hospitals within their respective districts and 2,250 patients referred to hospitals outside their home districts.
Rescue 1122 Director General Shah Fahad said the emergency service remains on round-the-clock alert to respond to all types of emergencies with professional and efficient rescue operations.
He urged the public to dial the 1122 helpline without delay in any emergency so that rescue teams can reach the scene and provide timely assistance.
