QUETTA, Jul 01 (APP): Governor Balochistan Jaffar Khan Mandokhel on Wednesday said that the government is taking great interest in promoting higher education, our goal is to include the University of Gwadar in the list of the best coastal belt universities in the world.
He said that as a result of our wise planning and close supervision, we have been able to strike a balance between limited resources and unlimited problems in all public sector universities of the province, Gwadar University’s score of 88.79 percent is an honor for all of us, for which the Vice Chancellor of the University of Gwadar, Prof. Dr. Abdul Razaq Sabir and his entire team deserve tribute.
He expressed these views while presiding over the third Senate meeting of the University of Gwadar.
The third Senate meeting of the University of Gwadar was attended by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Abdul Razaq Sabir, Vice Chancellor of the University of Balochistan Dr. Zahoor Ahmed Bazai, Justice Najmuddin Mengal of the Balochistan High Court, Additional Secretary Higher Education Mandokhel, Principal Secretary to the Governor of Balochistan Abdul Nasir Dotani, Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Syed Manzoor Ahmed and Registrar Dr. Daulat Khan, including all the Senate members.
Talking to the participants of the third Senate meeting, Governor Balochistan Jaffar Khan Mandokhel said that the government is taking great interest in promoting higher education saying our goal is to include the University of Gwadar in the list of the best coastal belt universities in the world.
He said that Gwadar University’s Strategic Plan 30-2026 has included only coastal belt related subjects like blue economy, marine sciences, fisheries, coastal belt management, and environment to maintain its distinctiveness.
He said that we are also seeking help and guidance from experts in other fields to make Gwadar University the best coastal belt university in the entire region.
Governor Balochistan Jaffar Khan Mandokhel said that the launch of vocational training and diploma courses along with quality education at Gwadar University is very wonderful, we therefore give special importance to these diploma courses because they ensure wide employment opportunities for unemployed youth.
He mentioned that it is encouraging that almost half of the total number of students at Gwadar University are local women, this is a commendable effort in such remote districts. The main objective of the university is to produce modern knowledge-based research. In this regard, the number of research papers of Gwadar University is impressively high. It is important that we utilize each of our research papers for the welfare of the people, he said.
Several important decisions were made as a result of suggestions and recommendations from the participants of the third Senate meeting of the University of Gwadar.
