Parliamentary Secretary inaugurates center at GC Women University

The Government College Women University Faisalabad has established the ‘Empower Her Multi-Purpose Center’ under the Digitalization for Women’s Economic Empowerment initiative, a collaborative project of KOICA, UN Women, and Kaarvan Crafts Foundation. 

FAISALABAD, Jul 01 (APP): The Government College Women University Faisalabad has established the ‘Empower Her Multi-Purpose Center’ under the Digitalization for Women’s Economic Empowerment initiative, a collaborative project of KOICA, UN Women, and Kaarvan Crafts Foundation.
The center has been equipped with digital learning and professional training lab for women aged 18–35 years, designed to provide digital skills, entrepreneurship training, leadership development, and opportunities for innovation and community engagement, thereby promoting women’s economic empowerment and participation in the digital economy.
Parliamentary Secretary, Women Development Department, Punjab, Saadia Temur inaugurated the center. Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Kanwal Ameen (TI) was accompanied.
Other distinguished guests included Ms Sidra Humayun, Program Coordinator at UN Women, and Mr Danish Jabbar Khan, CEO of Kaarvan Crafts Foundation. Heads of the University’s academic and administrative departments were also in attendance.
In her address, Saadia Temur highlighted the Punjab Government’s initiatives for women’s development, encouraging women to explore broader opportunities.
She appreciated the GCWUF for taking such a progressive initiative for women’s empowerment and extended her full support to the university in its future endeavors.
Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Kanwal Ameen (TI) reaffirmed her commitment to community engagement and women’s empowerment, stating that the center would serve as both a training facility for students and staff and a hub for community outreach and social development.
She also expressed appreciation for her team and acknowledged Ms Saadia Temur for her continued support.
Dr Sadaf Naqvi, Incharge, Multi-Purpose Centre and Women Development & Mentoring Centre, representatives of the partner organizations, and Prof. Dr. Ayesha Sameen, Director, External Linkages, also addressed the audience.
The ceremony concluded with a cake-cutting to mark the inauguration of the ‘Empower Her Multi-Purpose Center’.
