NCCIA establishes special cell for cybercrime cases involving women, children

The National Cyber-Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has established a special cell to ensure prompt registration, investigation and victim support in sensitive cybercrime cases involving women, children and girls.

LAHORE, Jul 01 (APP):The National Cyber-Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has established a special cell to ensure prompt registration, investigation and victim support in sensitive cybercrime cases involving women, children and girls.
According to a spokesperson, the initiative had been launched on the directions of Punjab Director Operations Muhammad Ali Waseem to deal exclusively with cases of online harassment, blackmail, cyber exploitation and other sensitive cyber offences.
The spokesperson said all cybercrime cases involving women and children would now be handled by the special cell under the direct supervision of the deputy director to ensure swift, transparent and effective action.
He said strict action would be taken under a zero-tolerance policy against those involved in online blackmail, fake social media accounts, and the misuse of private photographs and videos.
The special cell had also been activated to provide immediate legal assistance, protection and support to women, children and girls affected by cybercrime, the spokesperson added.
Muhammad Ali Waseem said cybercrimes targeting women and children would not be tolerated under any circumstances. He urged victims to contact the NCCIA without fear, assuring them that every complaint would be dealt with promptly and strictly in accordance with the law.
