Progress of new Burn Unit, Children’s Hospital, Thalassemia facility reviewed

BAHAWALPUR, Jul 01 (APP): A meeting was held under the chairmanship of Commissioner Irfan Ali Kathia to assess the establishment of a Burn Unit, Children’s Hospital and Thalassemia Unit along with their related development projects.
The meeting reviewed the progress of the projects, required resources, construction-related matters and various technical aspects in detail.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Bahawalpur Syed Hassan Raza, Director Health Services Bahawalpur Division Dr. Tanveer Shah, Medical Superintendent Bahawal Victoria Hospital Dr. Abdul Rehman, Medical Superintendent Sir Sadiq Muhammad Khan Abbasi Hospital Dr Hamid Khan, Director Development, Superintending Engineer Buildings and other relevant officials.
Addressing the meeting, Commissioner Irfan Ali Kathia said improvement of the public healthcare sector was among the top priorities of the Punjab government. He said all available resources were being utilized to provide citizens with modern, quality and timely medical facilities.
He directed the concerned departments to ensure the practical commencement of development work on the Burn Unit, Children’s Hospital and Thalassemia Unit at the earliest so that people could benefit from improved healthcare services.
The commissioner emphasized that all projects must be completed within the stipulated timelines, according to approved designs and with the highest standards of construction quality. He directed officials to immediately remove any administrative or technical hurdles and ensure regular monitoring of construction activities to avoid delays.
