ANF seizes over 2.79 tons of narcotics worth Rs 121.9 million in five operations

The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) conducted five operations in different cities across the country on Wednesday and arrested two suspects and recovered 2,790.492 kilograms(kgs) of narcotics worth more than Rs121.9 million.

RAWALPINDI, Jul 01 (APP): The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) conducted five operations in different cities across the country on Wednesday and arrested two suspects and recovered 2,790.492 kilograms(kgs) of narcotics worth more than Rs121.9 million.
According to an ANF spokesperson, the operations targeted both international drug trafficking and domestic narcotics networks.
In an international drug interdiction operation, officials recovered 332 grams of ice concealed in a woman’s dupatta from a parcel destined for Zambia at a courier office on Abbott Road in Lahore.
In another operation near Mohammadi Chowk in Hyderabad, ANF recovered 27.66 kgs of ice soaked in jackets and packed in a parcel intended for Australia. One suspect was arrested during the raid.
Under domestic drug interdiction efforts, ANF seized 649 kgs of Tramadol and 3.2 kgs of Valium tablets from a house near Pak Arab Society in Lahore, arresting one individual.
In District Chagai, near Nokundi, authorities confiscated 1,485 kgs of hashish along with 623 litres of liquor bottles.
In a separate operation near Purana Golimar in Karachi, ANF recovered 2.3 kgs of heroin.
Cases have been registered against the accused under the Control of Narcotic Substances Act (CNSA), 1997, and further investigations are underway.
