GDA achieves significant savings, reviews budget performance

GWADAR, Jun 30 (APP): A meeting of the Gwadar Development Authority (GDA) reviewed the financial performance of fiscal year 2025–26, including income and expenditure reports, revised estimates, and budget projections for the upcoming fiscal year 2026–27.
Officials briefed the participants that through austerity measures, transparency, strict financial discipline, effective monitoring, and curbing unnecessary expenses, GDA achieved savings of more than Rs. 130 million during 2025–26.
The savings were attributed to efficient management and cost-cutting policies across various heads, including fuel (POL), medical, travel allowances, refreshments, transport, and utility bills.

He directed that financial affairs, accounts, and budget management be aligned with modern professional standards to ensure optimal and prudent use of available resources.
He also instructed officials to comprehensively review all possible sources of revenue generation, prepare new feasible proposals, and make GDA’s recovery and collection system more effective.
Reaffirming his commitment, the DG said that through strong financial management, transparency, austerity, and improved administrative strategies, GDA will not only achieve its development targets but also advance Gwadar’s sustainable growth and public welfare projects more effectively.
