Seven LPG outlets sealed over overcharging in DI Khan

DERA ISMAIL KHAN, Jun 30 (APP): The district administration sealed seven LPG agencies and shops for selling liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) above the government-approved rates during a crackdown on Bannu Road and Chashma Road.
The action was carried out by Assistant Commissioner (Headquarters) Dr. Hamid Siddique, accompanied by the Assistant Director Industries, following public complaints and on the directives of Deputy Commissioner Hikmatullah.
During the operation, legal notices were issued to all violators for breaching the rates notified by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA).
The Assistant Commissioner said charging prices above the officially notified rates is a clear violation of the law and warned that strict action would continue against profiteers without discrimination. He added that all LPG dealers across the district have been directed through legal notices to strictly comply with OGRA’s prescribed rates.
He further warned that future violations would result in the sealing of outlets, registration of criminal cases, and imprisonment in accordance with the law.
The district administration reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring the availability of essential commodities at government-approved prices and said profiteering would not be tolerated under any circumstances.
