CM Balochistan reaffirms commitment to democratic values on World Parliament Day

QUETTA, Jun 30 (APP): Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti, reiterated the provincial government’s resolve to continue efforts for the promotion of democratic values, a strong parliamentary system, and public service in Balochistan.

In his special message marking World Parliament Day, Bugti emphasized that parliament is the genuine representative of the people’s aspirations and the strongest pillar of the democratic system. He noted that a strong, active, and empowered parliament guarantees public representation, effective legislation, accountability, and transparent governance.

The Chief Minister said that World Parliament Day provides an opportunity to renew the commitment to constitutional supremacy, rule of law, promotion of democratic values, and dedication to public service. He highlighted that the progress of democratic societies depends on strong parliaments that legislate according to the wishes of the people while prioritizing national interest.

Sarfraz Bugti reaffirmed that the Balochistan government believes in strengthening parliamentary traditions and is taking practical steps to consolidate democratic institutions, transparency, accountability, and the rule of law in the province. He added that the Balochistan Assembly plays a key role in addressing public issues, enacting effective legislation, safeguarding public interests, and promoting transparent governance.

He stressed that elected representatives must uphold the trust of the people by adhering to the Constitution and law while keeping national interest above all. The Chief Minister underscored that the stability of democratic institutions, constitutional supremacy, rule of law, and public trust are guarantees of Pakistan’s bright, stable, and prosperous future.
