Over 1,200 Police personnel deployed for 13th Muharram procession security in Taxila

Rawalpindi Police have finalized comprehensive security arrangements for the central 13th Muharram procession in Taxila, deploying more than 1,200 police officers and personnel to ensure the peaceful and secure conduct of the religious event.

WAH CANTT, Jun 29 (APP): Rawalpindi Police have finalized comprehensive security arrangements for the central 13th Muharram procession in Taxila, deploying more than 1,200 police officers and personnel to ensure the peaceful and secure conduct of the religious event.
City Police Officer (CPO) Rawalpindi Syed Khalid Hamdani, while exclusively talking to APP, said over 60 traffic police officers and personnel have also been assigned to regulate traffic flow and facilitate commuters during the procession. He added that more than 8,000 police officers and personnel have been deployed across Rawalpindi district to perform security duties throughout Muharram-ul-Haram, with senior police officers personally supervising security arrangements in the field.
The CPO said walk-through gates have been installed at all entry points of the procession, and participants are being allowed entry only after thorough body searches. He added that the procession and other sensitive locations are being monitored through the Safe City Rawalpindi surveillance system and additional CCTV cameras, while expert police marksmen have been positioned on rooftops along the procession route.
Syed Khalid Hamdani said adjoining streets, roads and other access points have been sealed to prevent any security breach. He said Rawalpindi Police are ensuring strict implementation of the Muharram code of conduct and all directives issued by the Punjab government to maintain peace, religious harmony and public safety throughout the observance.
