New excavation banned ahead of Monsoon

SARGODHA, Jun 29 (APP): Deputy Commissioner Hussain Ahmed Raza Chaudhry directed the Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) to immediately stop any new excavation work in the city ahead of the monsoon season and ensure the prompt restoration of roads and streets where sewerage work has already been completed.
Chairing a meeting here on Monday to review the progress of ongoing development schemes, the DC also ordered the completion of beautification projects in Kutchery Bazaar and City Road within one week, directing the authorities to reopen both markets fully for public use.
The meeting was attended by WASA Managing Director Muhammad Abu Bakar Imran, Deputy Director Development Mahtab Yaseen, AD PDP Hamid Chattha, and representatives of FESCO and other relevant departments.
The DC instructed WASA to complete road restoration in all areas where sewerage pipelines have been laid, ensure that all disposal stations remain operational, and keep drainage tanks and the stormwater drainage system fully functional to prevent urban flooding during the monsoon.
During the meeting, the WASA managing director briefed participants on the progress and timelines of the Mega Sewerage Project in Zones A and B.
